-
- Well, with X you surely want that memory that the GEM enhancements
- take. Eg. NVDI globs quite a bit of RAM.

-
- Unfortunately Atari hasn't improved GEM for some years and GEM
- isn't Atari corporations property neither, it's licenced from DR
- (or whatever the name of that company nowadays is). GEM
- hogs CPU time like a real pig (esp. the older versions).
-
- Fortunately Craig Graham is doing a a free multitasking friendly
- AES replacement (there are other replacements too). It should be
- released this spring.

-
- MiNT sound is 'installed' by copying the audiodev.xdd to the c:\mint\
- (or c:\multitos\) and used by copying the sound files to u:\dev\audio.
- If somebody says that's too compilicated, I'll throw up.
-
- Installing minix-fs isn't much harder (the program that converts a
- partition minix filesystem has only a couple of options after all).
- Using it means just having the right tools (like THING desktop if
- one want's GEM, although without shell minix-fs / MiNT capabilities
- can't be utilized fully).
